BRISTOL, Conn. – Algier G. Weeks, “Gerald” “Jerry”, 85, beloved hus-band of Nellie (Ogonowski) Weeks, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center. He was born May 8, 1922, in Blaine, son of the late Guy and Nina (Gilman) Weeks. Mr. Weeks was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. A longtime resident of Bristol, Conn., he was employed as a supervisor for the Morin Erection Co., prior to his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, Connecticut Post 2. He was active with the refurbishing of the World War II Memorial, Forestville, Conn. He was previously elected constable for the city of Bristol, Conn., and was also on the Handicap Committee. He was a member of St. Gregory Church. He lived his life enjoying his work, rock hunting, walking the trails of Connecticut, golfing, billiards, politics, but most of all the love of and for his family. In addition to his wife, Nellie, whom he was married to for 64 good years, he is survived by his three children, David G. Weeks of Terryville, Conn., Eileen W. Shea and her husband, Thomas, of Bristol, Conn., and Donald L. Weeks of Bristol, Conn.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Weeks family would like to thank the staff at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center and the Greater Bristol VNA for all their help and support. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol, Conn. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at St. Gregory Church, Bristol, Conn.
