MERRIMAC, Mass. – Alice Irene Desorcy-Gill, 66, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 18, 2007, surrounded by her family at her home. She was the wife of Merlon P. Gill. Born Nov. 21, 1940, in Somerville, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Christie E. (Leadbetter) Desorcy, and was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1958. A supervisor at AT&T, she had worked at their offices in both Boston and Lynn, Mass., for 18 years. Alice was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Calais, and was the secretary for the entire East Coast for the VFW. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, James W. “Jay” Pearson and wife, Tamera, of Perry, William C. Pearson of Carmel, and Richard A. Pearson and wife, Elinor, of St. Inigoes, Md.; one stepdaughter, Marjorie A. Gill of Merrimac, Mass.; two sisters, Evelyn Bird of Arlington, Mass., and Rita Fugazzotto of Billerica, Mass.; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Anne M. Gill in 2000 and Elaine Latinik in 2001. Visitation will be held 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main St., Merrimac, Mass., where funeral services will be held immediately after. Private springtime interment will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac, Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
