MILFORD – Allen C. Comstock, 71, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 19, 2006, with his wife by his side at his home. He was born July 16, 1935, in Old Town, the son of the late Arthur A. and Emily M (Burube) Comstock. In Allen’s younger years he worked for S.A. Fish Inc. for 10 years and for Sullivan’s Ford as the service manager. From 1979, until his retirement, Allen owned and operated Al’s Auto, specializing in automatic transmissions. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and four wheeling. Allen particularly looked forward to the yearly hunting trip to Birch Stream with his brother, Arthur, and good friend, Arnold Ellis. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Allen is survived, and will be sadly missed, by his loving wife of 16 years, Kathy; daughters, Christine Chabe and her fiance, Everett Sapiel, of Bradley, Diane Eaves of Holly Hill, Fla., Lynn Comstock of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Debbie Harris and her companion, Vern King, of Old Town; sons, Leslie Comstock and his partner, Gail McMichael, of Orono, Douglas Comstock and his wife, Donna, of Bangor, Bruce Harris and his companion, Shirley McClure, of Old Town and Brian Harris and his wife, Courtney, of Milford; step-daughter, Heidi Gallant and her husband, Bart, of Bangor; 13 grandchildren, Matthew, Erin, Jennifer, Michael, Stephen, Stephanie, Taylor, David Jr., Joshua, Brandi, Emily, Shawn and step-grand-daughter, Logan; three great-grandchildren, Adeline, James and Griffin; brother, Arthur Comstock and his wife, Betty Lee.; and he also leaves behind three close friends, Jack Doucette, Ralph Bouchard and Royce Lugdon, all of Milford. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., where a celebration of life will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Bruce Stevens officiating. Committal will be held at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town immediately after the service. Family and friends are invited to the Old Town United Baptist Church on Fourth Street after the burial for a luncheon and continued fellowship.
