CARIBOU – Alta Marie Scott, 76, wife of Ronald Scott, died March 13, 2007, at a Caribou health care facility. She was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Tilley, New Brunswick, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Allaby) Cochrane. Alta was employed at Aroostook Home Health Care for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. Alta loved to play bingo and play slot machines. She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Caribou; one son, Duane Scott of Nashua, N.H.; one daughter, Anita Delong and her husband, Craig, of Sidney; five grandchildren, Jaeson Scott, who was like a son to Alta and Ronald, Gerrett Delong, Dustie White and Chris and Lynnette English; eight great-grandchildren; a special uncle, Darrell Scott of Caribou; and a special aunt, Pauline Handscom of Perth Andover, New Brunswick. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the chapel of Mockler Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Kiehn, pastor of the Caribou United Baptist Church, officiating. Spring interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
