EAST MILLINOCKET – Amelia A. “Mamie” Willette, 89, died at a local hospital Friday, April 22, 2005. She was born Sept. 8, 1915, in East Millinocket, the daughter of Joseph Paul and Katherine (Karpavice) Gorris. She was the wife of the late Frank F. Willette who died in 1984. She was a graduate of Schenck High School, Class of 1934. She was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Millinocket and was a member of St. Anne’s Circle Daughters of Isabella. Amelia loved her family dearly. The family tradition was Christmas Eve at Nanny’s house. Mamie loved listening to albums and 45’s. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. She was a great cook and enjoyed pampering her grandchildren at camp. She had a strong faith and always lit vigil candles for family and friends. She is survived by a son, Frank J. Willette of East Millinocket; a daughter, Marie Mosca and husband, Robert, of Millinocket; a sister, Helen Lappa and husband, Joseph, of Millinocket; her grandchildren, Robert M. Mosca and wife, Diane, Diane and husband, Tim Richard, Susan and husband, Kevin Lathan, Lisa and husband, Mark LeGassey, and Frank and wife, Voula Willette; 10 great-grandchildren, Gina and Gabe Mosca, John and Alex LeGassey, Cara and Elizabeth Fraser, Shawn and Jenny Lathan, and Katina and Nicole Willette; three nieces and one nephew, and special friends. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Cora L. “Kokie” Willette; a brother, Albion Gorris; a sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and William Allen; a great-grandson, Brian Lathan. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 25, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Avenue, East Millinocket, where St. Anne’s Circle Daughters of Isabella will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
