PORTLAND – Angelina Carver, 91, of Park Danforth, formerly of 202 Holm Ave., died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at her residence. She was born in Delagua, Colo., a daughter of Peter P. and Rosina (Pitrillia) Martello. She was educated in Portland Schools and was a graduate of Deering High School, Class of 1931. She is remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Carver and her late husband were longtime members of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church and were active in many church activities. She donated many of her handmade knitted items to the church fair, and most recently to the Root Cellar. She also attended the First Baptist Church in Westbrook. For many years she and her husband took pride in the beautiful flower gardens they planted from seeds at their home. These gardens were admired by many people over the years. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Donald W. Carver, in 1997; and five brothers and three sisters. Surviving are three sons, Albert D. Carver and his wife, Sandra, of Grand Lake Stream, Ralph B. Carver and his wife, Ursula, of Portland, Robert P. Carver and his wife, Nancy, of Falmouth; a daughter, Janice C. Perry and her husband, Philip, of Westbrook; seven grandchildren Tracy, Michael, Anna, Robert, Lisa, Kimberly and Timothy; six great-grandchildren, Marie, Lyndon, Allison, Amanda, Sara, and Meg. Visiting hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Monday at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow in Brooklawn Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Root Cellar, 94 Washington Ave., Portland, ME 04101.
