BANGOR – Angelo Morneault, 89, former St. John Valley businessman died Oct. 12, 2005, at a local hospital after a long illness. He was born May 24, 1916, in Lille, the son of Henry and Louise Thibodeau Morneault. In 1944, he organized Van Buren Motors and in 1947, he organized Acadia Motors in Madawaska and operated both dealerships. He was a former director of the Maine Automobile Dealers Association. In Van Buren he served as chairman of Van Buren Light and Power, a member of the school board, and president of the Van Buren Rotary Club. For 15 years he was director of Aroostook County Federal Savings and Loan Association. He was manger of Aroostook Trust Company of Madawaska, and chairman of the Maine Automobile Dealers Registration Board. He was a 60-year member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the Pine Cone General Assembly and former member of the Van Buren Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by his first wife, Emilia Cyr Morneault in 1959. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Fern Pelletier Morneault; one son, Henry and wife, Patti, of McLean, Va.; three grandchildren, Gregory, Jeffery, and Katie; a stepdaughter, Virginia Vanier of Bangor; and three stepgrandchildren, Aimee Corbin and husband, Jeffery, of Madawaska, Adam Coltart and wife, Shellie, of Levant, and Alexander Coltart of Bangor; three great-stepgrand-children, Lance Corbin, Mack-enzie and Aliah Coltart. He is also survived by four brothers, Camille of Windham, Leo of Las Vegas, Nev., James of Manchester, Conn., and Louie of Scarborough; three sisters, Bertha Daigle of Valrico, Fla., Annette of Broad Brook, Conn., Jeanine of Hartford, Conn. He was predeceased by three brothers, Adrian, Patrick, and Emilien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until time of service, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. Knights of Columbus Prayer service will be 7 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, in the parish cemetery, Van Buren. Those who wish in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, One Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
