WESTERLY, R.I. – Ann C. (Carr) West, 73, of 26 Spring-brook Road, formerly of Pittsfield, passed away May 5, 2007, surrounded by her family, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Westerly, R.I. She was the wife of H. Kenneth West for more than 51 years. She and her family moved to Pittsfield in 1973 and back to Westerly, R.I., in 1988. While living in Maine she worked for many years at Mid Maine Medical Center, Waterville. She retired in 1999 from the Westerly Hospital, Westerly, R.I. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and former secretary of the Ladies Guild of the Immaculate Conception Church, Westerly, R.I. While living in Pittsfield, she served as president of the Waterville Council of Catholic Women and president of St. Agnes Ladies Guild, Pittsfield. Ann enjoyed wreath making, crafting, gardening, traveling and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Ann and Ken’s children include, Dr. Paul K. West and wife, Patricia, of Pittsfield, John E. “Jack” West of Chester, N.H., Eileen M. Wright and husband, Jack, of Pittsfield, Patricia A. Quint and husband, David, of Pittsfield; Kendra J. Turo and husband, John, of Westerly, R.I.; two brothers, John Carr of Dunns Corners, R.I., who predeceased her, and Raymond Carr of Westerly, R.I.; and one sister, Mary Marchetti of Westerly, R.I.; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, Westerly, R.I. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. May 10, at Immaculate Conception Church, Westerly, R.I. Interment will be at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly, R.I. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Agnes School, 6 Pine St., Pittsfield, ME 04967.
