ASHFORD, Conn. – Anna J. (Wilson) Zambo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, with her family at her side after a courageous fight. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother during her life, Anna was the tax collector of Ashford, Conn., owner and operator of the Ashford Dari Bar and worked at Jonathan’s Restaurant at the University of Connecticut. Anna was a member of the St. Philip Apostle Church. She loved to travel and to bake, but most of all, she loved her family. In addition to her husband of 55 years, Emery Zambo, she is survived by her five children and their spouses, Emery and Laura Zambo of Hampden, Mary and John Calarese of Ashford, Conn., Judith and Fred Austin of Ashford, Conn., Joseph W. Zambo of Ashford, Conn., and Laura and Scott Reglin of Dixmont; her grandchildren, Pfc. Jessica Zambo, Megan Zambo, Kristina Calarese, Freddy Austin, Joseph K. Zambo, Stacey Zambo and Jordan Reglin; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, Conn. Her funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at St. Philip Apostle Church, Route 44, Ashford, Conn. A private burial will be held after at St. Philip Cemetery. A special thank you is sent to the nursing staff at Windham Community Hospital, the Ashford Volunteer Fire Department and Pamela Chase.
