BANGOR and NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Anne Cochrane, 84, died Sept. 29, 2003, in Naperville, Ill. She was born Jan. 25, 1919, in Hampden, the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Laffin) Griffin. Anne was an avid reader, great swimmer and loved to ski. During World War II, she was a volunteer for Army Air Forces warning service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by three children, Nancy R. Akgun and husband, Suat, Charles H. Cochrane Jr., Mary Anne Sundresh and husband, Sundresh; four grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; a sister, Agnes Searles; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters and a brother. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Private Interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
