FORT FAIRIFELD – Annie B. Whtimore, 85, wife of the late Harold L. Whitmore Sr., died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 22, 2007, at a Presque Isle health care facility, after an extended illness. She was born March 9, 1922, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of John and Alice (Downing) Davenport. She attended Fort Fairfield schools and was married to Harold L. Whitmore Sr., Sept. 28, 1940. Annie attended Fort Fairfield Pentecostal Church and had been a member of the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187 Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Fairfield. She greatly enjoyed gospel music, knitting and her dog, Sealey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitmore was predeceased by her husband, Harold, Jan. 5, 1999; three brothers, Jasper, John Jr. and Daniel Davenport; and one sister, Della Paradis. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold Jr. and Judy Whitmore of Florida, and George and Pauline Whitmore of Fort Fairfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Charles Logsdon of Tennessee; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gideon and Jesse Davenport of Fort Fairfield, Russell and Lorraine Davenport of Presque Isle and Talford and Rose Davenport of Fort Fairfield; four sisters, Peggy Napoleon and her husband, Lou, of South Portland, Maxine McCarthy and Alice Kinney, both of Plaster Rock, NewBrunswick, and Sally McLaugh-lin of Windham, Conn; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grand-children, four great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A graveside service will be conducted at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
