TALMADGE- Archie C. Middleton, 92, hus-band of Joyce (Metcalf) Middleton, went home to be with the Lord, whom he loved and served, July 25, 2006. He was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Groveville, N.J., the son of Elsie (Vogts) and Arthur Middleton. Archie served in the Air Force during World War II. He ran greenhouses in New Jersey for many years, then moved to Talmadge, where he ran greenhouses for more than 30 years. Archie loved hunting and fishing. He was very involved with youth groups in Maine and Canada where he had a great love for the saving of troubled teens. He worked with Living Waters Bible Camp for many years, and loved music and singing in many churches with his wife, who accompanied him by playing the organ. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Kendall. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Rd., Danforth. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Hillside Free Baptist Fellowship Church, Topsfield with the Rev. Wendell Calder officiating. Interment will be in the Waite-Talmadge Cemetery.
