PATTEN – Ardean Susan Porter, 83, went to be with her Lord, Jan. 8, 2007, with all her family by her side. She was born March 5, 1923, in Mount Chase, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Ross) Rigby. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother and friend. She loved to knit, cook, go to church and to be with her family. She was a longtime member of the Patten Pentecostal Church. She married Clinton W. Porter, Feb. 16, 1941. They were married for 65 wonderful years. In addition to her husband of Patten, she is survived by her children, Richard Porter, Reggie and his wife, Sharon Porter, Sandra Dunn and Noralene Porter, all of Patten; her grandchildren, Clint Dunn of Oakfield, Michelle Russell and Reggie “Tig” Porter, all of Patten and Jennifer Tozier of Houlton; great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Gavin and Madison Russell, Bradley and Bryce Bailey and Gage and Bailey Porter, all of Patten, Gwen Parsons, Teagan and Taryn Tozier, all of Houlton; a brother, Lloyd Rigby and his wife, Jen, of Passadumkeag. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Henry E., Irving K. and Harry J. Rigby; and sisters, Hermye I. Noyes, Mazie W., Jessie I., Clair Rigby and Velma L. Webster. She was comforted with the love and care of Hospice of Aroostook/VNA. Thank you. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at the Patten Pentecostal Church, Patten, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor Sam DeWitt officiating.
