BANGOR – Ardis Norene Burns, 85, died Dec. 26, 2007, after a lengthy illness, at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Danforth, the daughter of Clyde and Lydia (Getchell) Noyes. Ardis graduated from Danforth High School and Beals Business School, and was a practicing licensed practical nurse for many years. She loved her family and was a devoted Christian. Ardis is survived by one son, Delano “Del” Burns and his wife, Linda, of Hudson; two daughters, Beverly and her husband, Clifford Rand, of Silver Spring, Md., and Bonnie and her husband, Alvan Sweigard, of Meriden, Conn.; three brothers, Clyde Noyes Jr. of Dennysville, Lloyd Noyes of Topsfield and Colby Noyes of Danforth; three sisters, Ione Robertson of Weston, Charlene Faulkner of Danforth and Lydia Preston of Danforth; 12 grandchildren, Scott, Noreen, Elizabeth, John, James, Joseph, Jeffrey, Nikki, Ann, Arlen, Timothy and Daniel; 22 great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Harold Hickson of Fairfax, Va. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, John E. Burns; one son, John E. Burns Jr.; one grandson, Erroll B. Burns; three brothers, Archie, Harland and Amos; and three sisters, Wanda, Clara and Leta. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, with Pastor Randy Washington officiating.
