MILLINOCKET – Arlene E. Knight, 64, of Millinocket, formerly of Nassau, N.Y., died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Arlene was born in Columbia Falls, the daughter of the late Maynard and Lena Grant. She had lived in Millinocket for four years. While living in Nassau, Arlene was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service from 1967 to 1982. She was a member of the N.Y.S. and Federal Rural Letter Carriers Assoc. and was a member of the Maine Grange. Survivors include two daughters, Evie McKenna of Schenectady and Christina Knight-Morse of Coeymans Hollow; a brother, Vergil Grant of New Hampshire; four sisters, Sue Emmerson, Helina Bartlett, Nadine McCluskey and Dee Austin, all of Maine, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St., Nassau, N.Y. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Tri-Town Baptist Church, East Millinocket. A reception will follow at the Bartlett House, 10 Pine St., Millinocket.
