STACYVILLE – Arlene L. Glidden, 96, died Sept. 8, 2004, at Patten. She was born Aug. 4, 1908, in Sherman Station, the daughter of Elbridge and Idella (Bragg) McLellan. Arlene enjoyed knitting, crocheting, dogs and cats. She is survived by one son, Derald Glidden of Island Falls; one daughter, Cynthia and her husband, Pearl Hunt, of Brewer, formerly of Stacyville; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Glidden of Harleysville, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, Terrance Glidden Jr., Stanley Thurlow, Vicki Thurlow, Rhonda Morse, Chet Glidden, Joanne Philbrick, Larry Hunt, Timothy Hunt, Lauretta Kulp, Ruth Rancourt, Rhoda Heath, Daniel Hunt; 26 great-grandchildren, 42 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Therlia St. Germaine of Patten, and Beryl Roberge of North Carolina. She was predeceased by two sons, Terrance Adrian and Elbridge Asa. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Calvary Baptist Church in Sherman Station, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Michael Booker officiating. Interment will be in Patten Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those who wish may donate in Arlene’s name to the Mission Fund, care of Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville ME 04777.
