CALAIS – Arline R. Mellows, 87, died March 15, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. Mrs. Mellows was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Edmunds, the daughter of the late Frank and Millie (Robinson) Marshall. She was employed with the Calais Hospital as a nurse’s aide until her retirement. Surviving are two sons, Merrill Daggett of Florida and David Frost of Charlotte; a daughter, Mary Jane Sylvester of Beachwood, N.J.; five sisters, Carolyn, May, Mildred, Ada, and Pauline; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roger Frost, her second husband, Clarence Mellows; and a son, Dale Daggett; two brothers, Leroy and Bob. Friends may call 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mays Funeral Home (formerly Scott-Wilson Funeral Home), 26 Church St., Calais until time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating. Burial will be in the Calais Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, Calais, or a charity of one’s choice.
