VAN BUREN – Armand Castonguay, 77, died March 13, 2007, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Drummond, New Brunswick, the son of Charles P. and Adeline (Rioux) Castonguay. He was raised in Van Buren and later moved to Bristol, Conn., where he lived and worked for more than 40 years. He was employed at the Hyatt New Departure Division of General Motors, retiring after 30 years, and was also self-employed as a general contractor in the greater Bristol, Conn., area. He had relocated to Van Buren in 1992. Armand was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion, Levasseur-Farrell Post No. 49 of Van Buren. He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Roger (Claire) Madore and Mrs. Rita Cyr, both of Bristol, Conn., Mrs. Everard (Florence) Daigle of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Mrs. Herbert (Annette) Learnard and Martha Castonguay of Van Buren; one brother, Louis Castonguay and his wife, Georgette of Bristol, Conn.; three sisters-in-law, Jackie, Kathleen, and Sandra Castonguay; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Bernard Castonguay, son of his twin brother, Fernand. In addition to his parents and twin brother, he was predeceased by two brothers, O’Neil and Roger Castonguay. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. Saturday, March 24, until time of service at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery later this spring.
