STETSON – Arnold L. Carson, 60, died Oct. 13, 2003, at his Mount Pleasant Road residence. He was born Oct. 30, 1942, at Bangor, a son of Merrill and Mildred (Baber) Carson. Arnold attended Carmel schools and served in the U. S. Air Force. He retired from the Cianbro Corporation as a truck driver. Arnold had his own band, “Country Redwood,” and played guitar at weddings, snowmobile clubs, bottle clubs and singles clubs. In addition to his mother of Bangor, he is survived by his companion of 14 years, JoAnn Gray; three sons, Terry Carson of California, Eric Carson of Plymouth, and Corey Carson of Newport; two brothers, Harold “Richard” Carson of Guilford, and Charles Sechrest of England; and nine grandchildren. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, with the Rev. George Darling, Pastor of People’s United Methodist Church in Newport, officiating. Burial will be in Clark’s Hill Cemetery, Stetson.
