HAMPDEN – Arthur J. Murray, 93, husband of the late, Celina (Voisine) Murray, passed away Feb. 3, 2005, at an Orono healthcare facility. He was born Dec. 20, 1911, in Fairfield, the son of Alfred and Rose (Dion) Murray. Arthur had been a resident of Hampden since 1950. He was employed as an engineer at Eastern Fine Paper of Brewer for 23 years, and then worked for Snow and Nealley as a welder for seven years. Arthur attended St. Matthews Catholic Church of Hampden. He leaves a legacy, of being a hard working family man, and for being a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening and going for rides. Arthur was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Celina in October 2003. He is survived by one daughter, Sharon D. Murray of Bangor; one son, Ronald W. Murray and his wife, Azilda, of Etna; three grandchildren, Ronald W. Murray II of Tennessee, Dale T. Murray of Hampden and David A. Murray of Colorado; three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Kiersten and Channing. He was predeceased by four brothers, Wilfred, Henry, Alfred and Raymond; and by four sisters, Doris, Sevelina, Ida and Florence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 70 Western Avenue, Hampden with the Rev. Robert Vailliancourt, pastor celebrant. Interment in the springtime will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Hampden. Gestures of remembrance may be made to the Ronald MacDonald House, 654 State Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
