SAN ANTONIO, Texas and BANGOR – Arthur J. Waterman, 97, formerly of Ban-gor, died March 6, 2004, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the devoted son of the late Helen Blumenthal and Arthur J. Waterman and grandson of Julius Waterman, founder of J. Waterman Co. in Bangor; beloved brother of Faith D. Waterman and the late Doris Waterman Neu and John J. Waterman, and cherished uncle of John L. Neu and Richard W. Neu. He was an accomplished and respected freelance writer; a man known for his generosity to needy causes, veteran of two World Wars, graduate of Williams College, Class of 1928, and recipient of an Honorary Degree from Texas Tech. He will be missed by his family and many friends in Texas and Mexico.
