ARTHUR W. REYNOLDS DUNNELLON, Fla. – Arthur W. Reynolds, 76, of Dunnellon, Fla., died on Jan. 8, 2004, at Monroe Medical Center in Ocala, Fla., after a brief illness. He was born on April 18, 1927, in Unity, the son of the late Alger P. and Leola (Ward) Reynolds. He attended schools in Beverly and Wellesley, Mass. On his 18th Birthday, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, and served in World War II. He graduated in absentia from Wellesley High School. He attended the University of Maine in Orono, and graduated in 1951, with a B.S. in forestry. His career was in the forest product industry in the State of Maine, and he retired as Sales Manager of Pinkham Lumber in Ashland. He and his family were long-time residents of Eagle Lake, preceding his move to Florida in 1980. He was active in a number of industry associations. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, camping and snowmobiling. In recent years he compiled a comprehensive genealogy of the Reynolds and Ward histories, tracing and documenting the family tree back as far as the 1100’s. He was an active member of the national Reynolds Family Association. He was blessed with many friends and he loved and cherished time with his own and his extended family at every opportunity, including organizing a number of family reunions. Arthur is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Reynolds of Dunnellon, Fla.; and his five children, Barak of Leesburg, Fla., Glenn of Sturbridge, Mass., Kathleen Ohman of Conway, N.H., Philip of Littleton, Colo., Gayle Reynolds of Waterford; and seven grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Merrill of Portland; brother, Jack of Dunnellon, Fla.; and sister, Rita Steele of Concord, Calif. Arthur was predeceased by sisters, June Filippone of Philadelphia, Pa., and Marilyn Powers of Naples, Fla. A family service will be held at the Reynolds Family Cemetery in Burnham at a later date.
