MANCHESTER, N.H. and LINCOLN – Audley Melvin Hanscom Sr., 67, of Robert Court and formerly of Nashua, N.H., died early Thursday morning, Oct. 12, 2006, at his home after a brief illness. Mr. Hanscom was born Nov. 24, 1938, in Lincoln, son of the late Trafton and Thelma (Sproul) Hanscom. A resident of Manchester for the past 18 years, Mr. Hanscom lived on Shawmut Avenue, Nashua, N.H., from 1969 to 1988. He was the husband of Danna E. (Rea) Hanscom, with whom he had share nine years of marriage. His first wife of 34 years, Doris A. (Irish) Hanscom died December 1994. Mr. Hanscom worked as a plumbing and heating contractor for more than 40 years and had owned and operated Hanscom & Sons Plumbing and Heating until retiring in 2001. He enjoyed hunting and bowling in his leisure time. Mr. Hanscom was educated in Lincoln and graduated from Mattanawcook Academy, Class of 1956. In addition to his wife, survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law, Steven and Cheryl Hanscom of Nashua, N.H., Mark and Carrie Hanscom of Bedford, N.H., Kevin and Denise Hanscom of Washington, N.H., Audley M. Hanscom Jr. of Nashua, N.H., and Eric and Kimberly Hanscom of Merrimack, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Stephanie and Addison Hanscom of Nashua, N.H., Jason and Kayla Hanscom of Bedford, N.H., Trafton Hanscom of Washington, N.H., and Benjamin and Zachary Hanscom of Merrimack, N.H.; and sister, Leona Tanguay of Connecticut, also nieces, nephews and cousins. The Farwell Funeral Service, Nashua, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.
