DOVER-FOXCROFT – Audrey B. Edgerly, 91, wife of the late Donald William Edgerly, died Jan. 23, 2008, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born Oct. 7, 1916, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Ernest John and Edith (Kirkpatrick) Bryant. During the early part of World War II, she worked in a shipyard in South Portland, and then at Butterfield’s Ice Cream Parlor, Dover-Foxcroft. She also worked at Koritsky’s Department Store, Dover-Foxcroft for many years. She was a volunteer at Mayo Regional Hospital for several years. Audrey enjoyed her friends at Thayer Parkway over the many years she lived there and particularly the times they dined out together. She also enjoyed her visits with family in Connecticut and the family gatherings at her son’s lakeside cottage in Bowerbank. She is survived by two sons, Ernest H. Edgerly of Old Lyme, Conn., and William B. Edgerly of Middlefield, Conn.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; including her special nephew, Aubrey Philpot and his wife, Norma; and a special niece, Sharon Emery, all of Dover-Foxcroft. She was predeceased by five sisters, Thelma Philpot, Katherine Fuller, Dorothy Berry, Hazel Stanchfield and Helen Bryant; and a great-grandson, Adam Brewster. Audrey’s family expresses special thanks to the staff at Hibbard Nursing Home for the loving, considerate, and thoughtful care provided to her during her final weeks. Friends are invited to call 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, until time of memorial service 11 a.m. at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Dover Cemetery.
