BREWER – A service of remembrance for Avice (Hemberg) Nickerson Sloat will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Constance S. Chase Wells, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Brewer, officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of the service. The family also invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, from 10 a.m. until service time.
