BALENDA ANN (SMITH) DOUCETTE GREENBUSH – Balenda Ann (Smith) Doucette, 39, went to be with her loving sister in heaven Aug. 4, 2007, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 14, 1967, in Bangor. She was a graduate of Old Town High School. Balenda spent most of her time working in the medical field and taking care of others. She was predeceased by her father, Allan Smith; and sister, Carmen Smith. Balenda is survived by her loving and thoughtful husband, Richard A. Doucette of Old Town; mother, Elizabeth “Betty” (Smith) Cunningham of Milford; very brave daughter, Brandy Woods of Greenbush; son, David “D.J.” Woods Jr. of East Holden; stepson, Richard A. Doucette II of Old Town; stepdaughter, Darlene Curtis of California; five beautiful grandchildren, Elyssa Doucette of Old Town, Lillyanna Leland of Alton, Jane Curtis of Orrington and Brooke and Chase Curtis of California; wonderful brothers and sisters, Mary Lou and her husband, David Webster, of Bangor, Mark and his wife, Tammy Smith, of Hudson and Debara and her husband, Lester Labelle, of Hudson, Robert and his wife, Jan Steinke, of Alabama; brother-in-law, Gary Doucette; nephew, Josh and his wife, Samantha Doucette; niece, Candace Cox; and dearest friends, Tonya Madore and David Woods. Balenda will never be forgotten and will always be missed. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Lawndale Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Birmingham Funeral Home.
