BAR HARBOR and KEENE, N.H. – Barbara B. Henry, 79, died Feb. 18, 2004, in New Hampshire. She was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Newburgh, N.Y., the daughter of Arthur and Ann (Brown) Burnett. She was the wife of the late John O. Henry, a senior partner of the Dayton, Ohio, law firm of Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur for many years, and a volunteer for legal services for the elderly in his retirement. She moved to Bar Harbor from Somesville, Mass., in 1995, after her husband’s death in 1991. She was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy of which her father was principal for many years, Wellesley College and the Katherine Gibbs School in New York City. She was a member of St. Saviour’s Church in Bar Harbor, Bar Harbor Garden Club, Bar Harbor Literary Club, Wellesley in Eastern Maine, Seven Sisters Downeast, and the American Association for University Women. She was a longtime volunteer at the Abbe Museum of Bar Harbor, and enjoyed the company of the Footloose Friends, a hiking group from Mt. Desert Island. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Henry of Keene, N.H., and a granddaughter, Gloria Henry; sons, Jonathan Henry of Cleveland, Ohio, and Timothy Henry and his wife, Holly, of Wayne, Pa., and their three children, Andrew, Allison and Jennifer. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church, Bar Harbor, with the Rev. Edwin A. Garrett III officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery, Mt Desert. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Barbara’s memory by made to Wellesley College, The Maine Sea Coast Mission, 127 West St., Bar Harbor, or the Acadia Trails Forever, care of Friends of Acadia, P.O.
