SULLIVAN – Barbara E. Moon, 77, died Sept. 26, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Nov. 10, 1926, in Franklin, the daughter of Maynard and Helen (West) Hardison. Barbara lived a quiet and simple life sharing much of her time with her family. She loved animals and supported organizations that helped them. She enjoyed reading and gardening. She attended the Sullivan Baptist Church. Barbara is survived by her mother, Helen of Brewer; two daughters, Dale F. Priest and husband, Frank, of Slayden, Miss., Lauren O. Hall and husband, Alvin, of Cherryfield; four sons, Michael A. Griffin of Brewer, Leslie L. Moon and wife, Jane, of Hancock, Leonard J. Moon of Lamoine, Elliot E. Moon and wife, Beth, of Franklin; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willard Hardison and wife, Patricia and Harry Hardison and wife, Sandra, all of Sullivan; two sisters, Ann Thayer and husband, Kenneth, of Carmel, Betty Tracy and husband, Carl, of Franklin; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, husband, Leslie W. Moon; daughter, Eva Rose; sisters, Mrs. Kenneth “Hazel” Tracy, Mrs. Lewis “Pauline” Kelliher; and grandson, Robert Leighton. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Bayview Cemetery, Franklin with Michael Page officiating. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
