HOULTON and EDDINGTON Barbara Hare Jones, 80, died peacefully Oct. 8, 2006, surrounded by her family at her Eddington residence. She was born Dec. 7, 1925, in Monticello, the daughter of Donald C. and Hilda G. (Porter) Hare. Barbara was employed by Dr. Hartman and then worked many years at Houlton Regional Hospital. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by 10 children, Peter and Kathy Greene of Gorham, Richard and Darlene Greene of Kentucky, Tim and Cathy Greene of South Carolina, Kim Greene of Georgia, Cathi Torrey and Barry Spofford of Eddington, John J. Torrey of Augusta; Mark D. Torrey of Portland, Melissa Bither of Maryland, Sherry and Dan Nelson of Houlton, Randy and Lori Jones of Newport; a special brother, Roger C. Hare of Portland; two special grandsons, Joshua Torrey and Christopher Bither; special granddaughter, Denice Jackson, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn W. Jones; stepson, David Jones; and a brother, Parnell Hare. The family expresses a special thanks to the Bangor Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice and Dr. Adam Louer. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
