KENNEBUNKPORT and HAMPDEN – Barbara J. Kamm of Kennebunkport, beloved grandmother, wife and mother, died Aug. 4, 2006. Barbara died peacefully and was surrounded by family and close friends. Barbara was born in Ilion, N.Y. She graduated from Catholic University of America and the University of New England and served proudly and with honor in the U.S. Navy. She had a distinguished career in the fields of adoption casework, medicine and counseling, and cherished the many long-lasting friendships throughout her career. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, cooking and gardening. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Chris; sons, Patrick, Kim and Joel; daughters, Gabrielle and Aimee; and grandson, Patrick; along with many other dear friends and family members. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at St. Martha’s Church, 34 Portland Rd., Kennebunk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Christian Children’s Fund and March of Dimes in the name of Barbara J. Kamm.
