FORT KENT and SOLDIER POND – Hermance (Pelletier) Desjardins, 76, died peacefully Aug. 4, 2006, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 31, 1930, in Clair, New Brunswick, the daughter of Wilfrid and Clara (Dionne) Pelletier. Some of Hermance’s favorite pastimes were knitting and crocheting. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Hermance is survived by her sons, Philip and David Desjardins, both of Fort Kent; her daughter-in-law, Lise Desjardins; one grandson, Mitchell Desjardins, both of Clair, New Brunswick; her sisters, Gilberte Berube of Edmundston, New Brunswick and Wilhelna “Toutoute” Pelletier of Quebec City; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to both parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John in 1974; her son, Mike in 1991; one sister, Laurente Laporte; and three brothers, Justin Levesque, Lucien Levesque and Armand Pelletier. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of departure for Soldier Pond at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Soldier Pond with the Rev. Jean Marc Laporte officiating. Committal service will be afterward at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Kent. In lieu of flowers, at the request of the family donations may be made to the Forest Hill Manor Activities, care of Activity Director, 25 Bolduc Ave., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
