NORTHPORT and ORONO Barbara J. (Trafton) Thibodeau, 64, the wife of the late Fredrick M. Thibodeau Jr., died Oct. 29, 2006, after a short illness. She was born Oct. 9, 1942, in Belfast, the daughter of William Trafton and Vivian (Small) Trafton. She worked in Belfast for many years. For more than 10 years, she and Fred owned and operated the Hideaway Diner, Northport. The last few years of her life she volunteered her time at the Northport Food Cupboard. She resided in Northport most of her life and especially enjoyed receiving visits from her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Earl W. Duley and his wife, Tricia (Thompson) Duley, of Corinna, Vincent S. Thibodeau and his wife, Elizabeth (Dawson) Thibodeau, of Swanville; and a daughter, Lisa (Sparrow) Brassbridge of Prospect. She had several stepchildren, Fred, David and his wife, Andi, Kris, Rick and his wife, Mary, Sheila (Thibodeau) Orthell and her husband, Paul, and Debbie Woodlow. Barbara had three grandsons, Michael Thibodeau who is serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq, Jordan and Jacob Duley of Corinna; three granddaughters, Brianne Duley of Corinna, Amanda and Ashley Brassbridge of Prospect. Her sister, Beverly Maddox of Waldo; and her friend, Ed Beckett, also survive her. She had several nieces and nephews that were very special to her. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred; her sister, Betty (Trafton) Erickson; and a stepson, Mark Thibodeau. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Barbara’s memory to the Northport Community Church, Cove Road, Northport, ME 04849. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
