AMHERST – Barbara L. Kazlaskas, 81, died Feb. 17, 2005, after a long illness at the Courtland Rehab & Living Center in Ellsworth. She was born March 24, 1923, in Carmel, the daughter of Ivery and Susie (Parsons) Webber. She and her husband operated a furniture factory in Amherst for many years. She was a member of the Amherst and Aurora Congregational Church in Amherst. Barbara is survived by her husband of 58 years, Col. Peter Kazlaskas of Bangor Veterans Home; son, David of Ellsworth; daughter, Susan of Amherst; seven grandchildren, Shannon Daley of Calais, Debra, Jennifer, Peter, Susie, Joshua Kazlaskas, Max Thompson and wife, Marie, their two daughters, Willa Rose and Juliette of Bangor, Laura Thompson of Ellsworth; great-granddaughter, Jordon Daley; sister, Rilla Burgess of Charleston; 10 brothers, Merville and wife, Frances, of Parkman, Vernie of Garland, Ivery of Monson, Manford and wife, Nora, of Willimatic, Forrest and wife, Charlene, of Garland, Glenwood of Garland, Glenwood of Garland, Gardiner and wife, Dodie, of Dexter, Leroy and wife, Barbara, of Corinth, Alton and wife, Wanda, William Webber and wife, Colleen, both of Garland. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruby; and four brothers, Gordon, Renview, Harland and Allen Webber. She will be sadly missed by her long life friend, Velma Gallager of Garland. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
