Phil was a tinker of all trades, there was nothing he could not figure out or do. He loved his blues and Harley Davidson’s and the fun and enjoyment that went with it. Tip, “Lobster,” Frog, and “Chum” to his sister, was blessed with so many friends, especially at the Lunch Box in Ventura, Calif., and the Top Deck in Port Hueneme, which he owned and operated for a few years. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Charles “Chuck” Babineau; and nephew, Robert Ira Giffard. He is survived by his loving sister, Sandra “Sandi” and her husband, Ray Kaatz; nieces, Darlene Black, Lynn Yoder and husband, Sam, and Aimee Babineau, all of Maine; nephew, Chip Babineau and wife, Tara, of Portland; sister-in-law, Donna Lyford and husband, Darrel, of Brewer, cousin, Fred Cheney and wife, Una, of Bowdoinham; his ex-wife, Kathy and her daughter Michelle Lee, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; and of course his dog and companion, T.D. Sandi thanks Community Memorial Hospital staff and his doctors for their special care. A very special thank you to Pam Burkmand and her daughter, Kimberly, LaVon Welch and Gene McMahan, who have been such good friends to Phil and Sandi. Any remembrances of Phil may be made to Ronald McDonald House or the Pine Tree Society for Cripple Children in Bangor. Cremation has taken place and at Tip’s request, no services will be held. He will go home to Maine at a later date. A celebration of his life was held on Super Bowl Sunday.
