KENNEBUNKPORT – Barbara Willey Dube, 76, a long time resident of Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunkport and Arundel, most recently of Zephyrhills, Fla. and Sanford, died Dec. 11, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born Jan. 5, 1928, in Arlington, Mass. the daughter of Harlan Paige Leighton and Marion Rose Gerbick. She was raised in Cambridge, Mass. Barbara graduated from Cambridge Latin High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland. She served as a nurse at Webber Hospital and the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, for more than 25 years. She was also a well known artist and taught ceramic art in the Kennebunk’s for many years, and her business was known as Ceramics by Barb. She was active in the Goose Rocks Beach Fire Department Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, Cub Scout Den Leader, and the Olympian Club in Kennebunkport. She was a communicant of St. Martha’s Parish in Kennebunkport. Barbara was predeceased by her first husband, Nelson L. Willey Sr. in 1991. She was remarried in 1995, to Guy Dube of Sanford. Barbara is survived by her husband, Guy Dube; and her three children, N. Laurence Willey Jr. and his wife, Lorna, of Bangor, Kathleen Willey Marshack of San Diego, Calif., and Richard A. Willey and his wife, Julia, of Suffolk, Va.; and five grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., where prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martha’s Church. Interment will follow at Arundel Cemetery. Gifts in lieu of flowers may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1 Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086, or to the Goose Rocks Beach Fire Company Building Fund. Arrangements are by Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk.
