SACO – Barry Bouffard, 58, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Maine Medical Center. He was born Feb. 13, 1948, in Biddeford, a son of Andrew and Rita Cormier Bouffard. He was a lifelong resident of Saco, was educated in Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1967. Mr. Bouffard served with the U.S. Coast Guard on active duty for four years, 18 months in Vietnam and 33 years aboard the USS Spencer. On Aug. 1, 1970, he married Claire Landry at St. Andre’s Church, Biddeford. Mr. Bouffard was employed at the Shaws Distribution Center, Wells, for the past 22 years as facility manager. He was a member of the Saco Yacht Club and the Saco Pathfinders as well as the Coast Guard Reserve. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and biking. He participated in the Trek Across Maine to benefit the American Lung Association for two years in a row. A talented musician, he played country and French Canadian music on the trumpet, drums and guitar. He enjoyed Friday night card games with his buddies, fishing, hunting and camping at Sebago Lake. Barry loved family time, especially time spent with his grandson, Andrew. Barry was predeceased by his father, Andrew in 1993. Surviving are his wife, Claire Landry Bouffard of Saco; one daughter, Devra Holmquist and her husband, Mark, of East Waterboro; one son, David Bouffard and his wife, Nancy, of Biddeford; his mother of Saco; two brothers, Kenneth Bouffard and his wife, Priscilla, of Saco and Rodney Bouffard and his wife, Jeanne, of Gray; five sisters, Joan Camire and her husband, Richard, of Biddeford, Nancy Nadeau and her husband, Real, of Biddeford, Debbie Saucier and her husband, Donald, of East Waterboro, Tammy Laflamme and her husband, Richard, of Dayton, Michelle Kimborowicz and her husband, David, of Biddeford; three grandchildren, Andrew and Audrey Holmquist, Abigail Bouffard; several nieces and nephews Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church, Biddeford. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco. Arrangements are with Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barry’s memory may be made to The Vietnam Veterans Association, in memory of David Bouffard, Norway Savings Bank, 4 Scammon St., Suite 32, Saco, ME 04072.
