MACHIAS – Beatrice Josephine (Hatt) Huntley, 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at 8:54 a.m. at Marshall Health Care in Machias. She was born May 11, 1914, in the Martha Hooper House, Kennebec Road, the daughter of the late Herbert and Alberta (Manchester) Hatt. She worked at the old Helen’s Restaurant for 27 years. Beatrice was one of the “Golden Girls.” Beatrice had a beautiful collection of bride dolls that she adored and referred to as her “children.” Her favorite doll was “Morgan.” Beatrice was predeceased by her husband of nearly 37 years, Ralph; three sisters and four brothers, Dorothea, Mary and Madeline and John, Herbert Jr., William, and Leon; a niece, Paula Smith, and special friend, Bunny Lehman. She is survived by five daughters, Maxine Colbeth and husband, Floyd, of Bucks Harbor, Constance Wood and husband, Gleason, of Machias, Sandra Diffin and husband, Ralph, of Chino Valley, Ariz., Elinda Denell and husband, Edward, of Milford, N.H., Dorothea Dennison and husband, Gary, of East Machias; three sons, Wendell White and wife, Karen, of Machias, Lloyd White of Machias, and Ronald Huntley and wife, Cynthia, of Manchester, N.H.; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grand-children, eight great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter on the way; two sisters, Bernice and Priscilla; and special nephew, Leon Hatt Jr. and wife, Pam, of Harrington. Visiting hours will take place 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Community of Christ, North Street, Machias, officiated by Elder John Woodman.
