DEXTER – Beauford Ellen (Patterson) Lowell, 86, passed away Feb. 19, 2008, at Country Manor, Coopers Mills, after a long illness. She was born April 20, 1921, in Sherman, to Vernon S. and Pearle M. Joy Patterson. Beauford was a small child when the family moved to a farm in Saint Albans. She was one of a family of five children, with two sisters and two brothers. Beauford married Eugene B. Lowell, July 22, 1945, and he predeceased her Feb. 12, 2007. Beauford worked at bookkeeping and general office work for many years. Prior to World War II, she worked at Fayscott Landis Machine, Dexter, and during the war, at the U.S. Navy Department, Washington, D.C. After the war, she worked at several businesses in Dexter, including Fayscott Landis Machine, Dexter Shoe Co., and Eastern Gazette. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Dorcas Ellen Chance of Round Rock, Texas, and Carolyn Judith Tibbetts of Camden; a sister, Adele Stedman of Hartland; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. At her request there will be no funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date with the date and time to be published.
