ABBOT – Gertrude P. McDonald, 85, died Feb. 19, 2008, at Dexter Health Care. She was born Dec. 2, 1922, in Guilford, daughter of Harley and Nettie (Ferro) Taylor. She worked as a weaver for Guilford Industries for many years. She enjoyed doing crafts and yard work, and even did her own carpentry, including building her own screens and doors. She is survived by her children, Ronald Taylor and his wife, Marcia, of New Hampshire, Lynda Smart and her husband, Jesse, of Cambridge, Alvin McDonald Jr. and his fianc?e, Nancy Crabtree, of Guilford, Larry McDonald and his companion, Debbie, of Connecticut; a sister, Edna Sanborn of Guilford; many grandchildren; nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Malcolm Marsh of Guilford. Spring graveside services will be held at Lawn Cemetery, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association, 51 U.S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074.
