ELLSWORTH – Bernard L. Morse, 77, died Aug. 1, 2004, in an Ellsworth hospital. He was born June 1, 1927, in Danforth, son of Leo and Annie “Ouellett” Morse. Bernard was a barber in Ellsworth for 40 years and he enjoyed gardening. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army in Germany and was a member of the VFW. Bernard also worked for Harold McQuinn Contractors for 20 years. Bernard is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Janice “Anderson” Morse; a son, John Morse and a daughter, Jeanne Daigle and her husband, Lenny, all of Ellsworth; two brothers, William Morse of Houlton, and Philip Morse of Danforth; three sisters, Lucille Bailey of Danforth, Madelyn Jansen of California, and Clarice Nichols of Bangor; four grandchildren, John Morse II, Jock Morse and Jack and Deanna Daigle; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Sonny and Laurence. Bernard chose to have no visiting hours. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ellsworth. If friends desire, they may make contributions to the VFW on Washington-Junction Road, Ellsworth, ME 04605.
