PERRY – Greta I. (Libby) Morang passed away July 30, 2004, at the Eastport Nursing Home. She was born March 3, 1917, in Machiasport, the daughter of Arthur and Eva Libby. She spent most of her life in Machias working in the local restaurants. She retired in the 1980s as manager of the food service at U.M.M. She loved the cruises with Polly, the winters in Florida, and summers at “the cottage” in Perry, with family and friends. She was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters; by a much loved, special sister-in-law, Louise Plummer; and by her husband, Archie Morang. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jim Pottle of Perry; and by four grandchildren and their families, Dean Sue and Seth Pottle of Carencro, La., Steve, Renee, Adam and Trevor Pottle of Kennewick, Wash., Andrew Pottle and children, Kallie and Mitchell of Brewer and Machias, and Amy, Darin and Katherine O’Neal of Riverview, Fla. She will be missed by all of her nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends, neighbors and caregivers who made it possible for her to remain in her own home for as long as she did. She was a member of St. John’s Parish in Pembroke. Committal will take place in early September at the Longfellow Cemetery, Court Street, Machias. Donations in her memory may be made to the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home, Meals for Me Eastport, or any program that benefits the elderly.
