BRONX, N.Y. and MEIERS CORNER, N.Y. – Bertha E. Gorga, 79, of Meiers Corner, a homemaker and former singer, died Sept. 27, 2003, in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze. Born Bertha E. Strout in Bangor, she moved to the Bronx when she was 20. A loving homemaker, she was devoted to her husband of 54 years, John J. Gorga, who died in 1998. Her son, John, died in 1978. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela of New York; and brother, John of Auburn. The funeral service was held in September at All Saints Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Clement’s Church, 423 West 46th St., NY City 10036 would be greatly appreciated.
