VEAZIE – Bertha Gilman, 86, died peacefully with her family at her side, June 19, 2005. She was born March 1, 1919, in Old Town, the daughter of William and Helen (Madden) Ramsey. She was employed with the Old Town Woolen Mill for 30 years. Surviving are one grandson, Gregg Guerin and his wife, Debra, of Veazie; one granddaughter, Rhonda Knight and her husband, Todd, of Tampa, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, Rylee Jean Guerin of Veazie; one great-grandson, Marshall Knight of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Martin Ramsey and his wife, Lorraine, of Milford, Henry Ramsey and his wife, Sandra, of Calais, Raymond Ramsey and his wife, Ethel, of Dixmont; a sister, Lucy DuFour and her husband, Patrick, of Old Town; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gilman was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Francis A. Gilman, Sept. 4, 1999; her only daughter, Zita M. Guerin, July 24, 1991; her son-in-law, Jean R. Guerin, DMD, April 19, 1999; three sisters, Bessey Mather, Grace McClure, Lucretia Zito; and two brothers, John and Herbert Ramsey. Private services will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie.
