WOODVILLE – Bertha W. Hansen, 69, wife of James Hansen, passed away July 3, 2005, at her home. She was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Auburn, the daughter of Edward and Emily Welch. Bertha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a foster parent for 10 years, a retired LPN and a member of the Lincoln Congregational Church. She was always willing to help others. In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by seven children, Dawn Henderson of Caseta, Ga., Becky Bowers of Goose Creek, S.C., Kim Pates of Concord, N.H., Wendy Barnies of Lewiston, Clay Hansen of Louisville, Ky., Misty Gilheany of Casco, David Hansen of Chester; six brothers and sisters, Edward Welch of Windham, Conn., Ernest Welch of North Windham, Conn., Starr Sward of South Windham, Conn., Joyce Bickford of Auburn, Pamela Cooper of Minot and Richard Welch of California; 15 grandchildren, Tonya Germany, Jeremy Gentry, James Henderson, Michael and Shauna Land, Randy and Jamie Tompkins, James Michaud, Rochelle and Morgan Hansen, Alyssa and Kierstyn Barnies, David Hansen Jr., Cassandra Hansen and Evan Gilheany; and six great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Casin and Cassandra Gentry, Christian and Brianna Land, and Nathan Tompkins; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with the Rev.
