MADAWASKA – Bertin Daigle, 74, died June 19, 2004, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1929, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the son of Hypolite and Wellena (Hebert) Daigle. He operated Bert’s Lunch Stand in Madawaska for 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Velma (Parent) Daigle of Madawaska; two sons, Alan and his wife, Denise, of Conway, Ark., Bryan of Madawaska; one son-in-law, Lenny Doiron; one sister, Pierrette Gagne of Edmundston, New Brunswick; four grandchildren, Marc, Natasha and Catrina Daigle and Keith Doiron; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Carol (Daigle) Doiron, in 1994; three brothers, Larry, Clifford and Reno; and by four sisters, Claudette, Priscille, Lorraine and Alda. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 1 p.m. until time of services on Monday at the Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery.
