EDDINGTON – Louise E. Hodgins, passed away June 20, 2004, after a long illness. She was born May 14, 1942, in Morristown, N.J., and grew up in Sucasunna, N.J., and summered with her family on Chemo Pond in Clifton. An avid outdoorswoman and animal lover, her heart always belonged to Maine. Louise became a full-time resident after she left the University of Colorado at Fort Collins. She will be remembered for her service to the community as a Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader and volunteer art teacher. Her artistic vision has left impressions on hundreds of children in the East Eddington Area. She is survived by her son and his family, Stephen, Michele, Mitchell and Joel Hodgins all of Eddington; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and John Junkins of Freedom, N.H.; and her brother and sister-in-law, John and Paula Benson of Washington; and many friends, including special friends and neighbors, Louise Mayo and JoAnn Russum. Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Elaine Hewes, pastor of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bangor, officiating. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
