AMHERST – Betty Ann Stebenne, 73, died Jan. 31, 2007, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Mattapoisett, Mass., the daughter of Stephen and Lottie (Pittsley) Vaughan. She is survived by her husband, Maurice A. Stebenne of Amherst; two sons, Thomas Frezza and Joseph Frezza Jr., both of New Bedford, Mass.; two daughters, Mrs. Robin and her husband, Edward Simmons, of New Bedford, Mass., and Mrs. Tami and her husband, Stephen Abbadessa, of Amherst; one brother, Wesley Vaughan of Fairhaven, Mass.; three sisters, Norma Tripp of Westport, Mass., Virginia Santos of Palm Beach, Fla., and Lottie Joseph of Marion, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Scott, Joseph, Christopher, Brandi, Allison, Jeffrey, Adam and Nicholas; and four great-grandchildren, Kobe, Zachary, Caitlin and Abigail. She was predeceased by one brother, Stephen Vaughan; and two sisters, Constance Benge and Elaine Romberg.
