ELLSWORTH – Betty E. Hitchcock, 77, died May 31, 2006, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born July 20, 1928, in Bangor, the daughter of Harvey and H. Marie (Crosby) Hitchcock. Betty worked for Shop & Save for 15 years. She drove taxi for Curt Brown for many years and was a school crossing guard for the city of Ellsworth. She loved her flower garden, playing the piano and using her computer. She is survived by two daughters, Holly L. Hitchcock, Robin A. Clark and husband, Wayne; two grandchildren, Anthony H. Brenton and Adam R. Hitchcock, all of Ellsworth; sister, Linda H. Robertson and husband, Robert, of Boothbay; nieces, Jane Townsend and husband, Bryan, of Charlotte, N.C. and Mary Robertson of Bar Harbor. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
