BANGOR – Betty Jane Higgins, beloved wife and mother, died Feb. 4, 2006. She was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Machias. She is survived by her husband, Philip Higgins of Bangor; four children, Beth and her husband, George Osler, of Belfast, Janice and her husband, Michael Clark, of Bangor, Philip Higgins Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Rockport, Megan and her husband, Bruce Elam, of Falmouth; five grandchildren, Amy Badger, Cali Martell, Leigh Osler, Benjamin and Samuel Higgins; and great-grandson, Aubrey Badger. She was predeceased by her mother, Myra (Howes) McKenney; her daughter, Leigh; her brother, Paul McKenney; and her sister, Ruth Kimball. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments, at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
