PERRY – Richard “Dickie” Brackett, 70, husband of the late Margaret “Dee” Brackett, died Feb. 3, 2006, at his home after a short illness. He was born Feb. 12, 1935, the son of Bertha (McPhail) and Seth Brackett. He married Dee Feb. 29, 1959. He was a mason by trade, he worked on the Cutler towers as well as building the railroad. He is survived by a son, Roger Kevin Brackett and girlfriend, Bernice Perry, of Pleasant Point, Perry; three grandchildren, Andrea, Kailie and Leela; four great-grandchildren, Devon, Wesley, Kendra and Christopher; one sister, Annie Smith of Perry; several nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law, Francis “Bib” and Joseph “Lane” Nicholas; and many, many close friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Margaret “Dee” Brackett; seven siblings, Evelena Garcia, Margaret Mealey, Nini Morell, Joe, Johnny, Jimmy and Davey Brackett; mother-in-law, Margaret Nicholas; brothers-in-law, Jerry, John, Hartley and Joseph “Nelson” Nicholas; sisters-in-law, Rita Altvater and Mary Nicholas. Family and friends may call Sunday, Feb. 5 and Monday, Feb. 6, at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Pleasant Point, Perry.
